The Peace Corps started as a civil authority in charge of law enforcement and colony security. One of their first and most used ships was the Pursuit Class Corvette, designed by Utopia Armorment co. The Pursuit Class originally was fielding in policing and customs enforcement operations. This role changed quickly leading up to the war with The Vanguard in 9972. During the 10 year period while the Peace Corps feigned neutrality in the wider Vanguard-Federation conflict they had started to develop their first real war ships, the Dominion Class Battleship and the refitting of Legacy Andromeda Class Carriers, but very few would be ready by the time the Peace Corps was forced to enter the war. At the outset they primarily relied on the Pursuit Class operating with wolf pack style hit and run ambush attacks rather than direct fleet on fleet conflict.
