filling a strictly economic role in the Valor series line up, The Pitman Light Mining Ship or simply, the Pitman MS-L S4, is built purely for ore and crystal extraction. for this reason, it sports no offensive or defensive weaponry and is very reliant on escort ships or combat oriented mother ships to ensure its safety.
it doses however, pack a Tier 3 FTL drive, allowing for quick escapes over vast distances. it also sports an Ore scanner, allowing the pitman to partake in planetary mining, and with a mining amplifier working in tandem with its 4-barrel salvage array, it can keep pace with most large-scale mining ships.
thus, the pitman is a good entry level mining ship for those who prefer to earn their fortune from the bounty of a belt. and with a somewhat hollow interior towards the front, post construction modifications are very real advantage.
