    The M-55 Strike Fighter, affectionately dubbed the "Havoc" for it's ability to wreak it in copious quantities was built to be a full replacement for the valiant, yet aging M-45 Heavy Fighter.

    Following the philosophy of the older model, it is essentially a large gun and a cockpit suspended between two enermous thruster packs.
    The already massive design grew larger still, putting the craft's dimensions closer to a commercial airliner - and it's robustness to a main battle tank than a jetfighter.
    Despite this increase in mass, with the latest upgrades the M55 manages to achieve a far greater level of speed and mobility than it's predecessor.

    The enlarged frame allowed for much greater durability and improved shield banks, pushing the Havoc well beyond the grade of lightweight "suicide pods", to the point that actual human crew can feel reassuringly safe while braving the dangers of the cold vacuum of space, and the incandescent death raining down on the heavily armored hull in combat.

    The M-55A variant employs advanced fire control systems, which allow for even a single pilot to simultaneously fire all the weapons at his disposal on his selected target;

    The dual beam banks are manually aimed, while the tracking missiles are handled by the AI, only requiring the pilot to select a target once, thus allowing him to perform other actions during the lock-on period.
    The rapid fire cannon can either be operated by a co-pilot, or by the AI shooting at your selected targets.

    Wireless safety switches on the action bar allow for arming and disarming the AI weapons to protect against friendly fire incidents.

    AI ships are unable to operate select-fire turrets, and in "any target" mode they'll try to engage targets well outside their firing arc. For the best results, use the B version (single-piece hull) for AI fleets, and the A version (select-fire weapons) for personal fighters.

    The pilot and co-pilot each have access to a small personal storage module and a first aid kit.
    Simple logic based running lights and canopy switches are also included.

    In the A version, the pilot sits in the rear seat, while an optional gunner may take the fore. (Though he won't be able to provide much more than company, since "aiming" as such isn't really possible without turning the entire craft...)
    Version B is single-seat.

    I'm ready. Let's start RIGHT NOW!
    I love the look of this ship! Unfortunately, it's out of date for the latest weapons/power update, but it isn't too much of a problem to refit it. I can send you the modified blueprint, if you want me to.

    Thanks, I've been experimenting with some refits myself. Guess I'd better update my ships once I have some time.
    Wow love the design! It really has that robust look to it like it can take a hit and still keep going. If anything maybe adding some more detail like 1-2 blocks trench with piping, wires or vents for more detail but otherwise great work! Also like the lore to the ship " suicide pods" haha
    A very beautiful ship, very suitable for RP and in the right hands pirate station combat
