Baltic Class Frigate Tender (WIP)

Baltic Class Frigate Tender (WIP) 3.0

    starmade-screenshot-0017.png

Currently under development at HighGuard Enterprises’ Shipyard Bravo, this vessel is tasked with the quick deployment, basing and maintenance of a full squadron of Zamzara Shipyards' E5553 Wyvern frigates. The E5553 required slight modifications to docking hardware to allow successful mating with the Baltic. HGE has designated the modified Wyvern the ZZ E5553A. The initial prototype of the Baltic was constructed around the forward hull of a decommissioned Pleiades class starliner, but design aspects of that hull were deemed unsightly by Zsa Zsa of Zamzara, so the forward hull was redesigned to more closely match the Wyvern’s design aesthetic.

Designed to be a mothership of sorts for the frigate squadron, the ship's main mode of flight is a jump drive. Maneuvering thrusters are intended for docking and maneuver within secure basing facilities only. Lightly armored and unarmed (at present), the Baltic's main defense is to be elsewhere when hostilities commence, letting the Wyverns do the fighting. A cloaker has been installed but is only viable after the squadron has been launched, along with a full array of defensive systems to augment shields and armor.

Successful flight testing of the vessel's rapid launch and recovery system were completed just last week.

    Features:
    • Dual button controls to prevent accidental launching of carried squadron
    • Automatic Docking rail reset to allow quicker recovery
    • Safety lockout system to prevent a second E5553A from attempting to dock at an occupied hardpoint
    • Primary Flight Control in dorsal bubble
    • Docking status board
    • Dual power generators producing over 2Me/s
    • Quarters for 24 crew
    • Crew’s Mess with forward observation port
    • Infirmary
    • 7K+ cargo capacity in Ship’s Stores
    • Transporter facilities in Secondary Flight Control and rear Engineering spaces
    • Three docking rings which can be easily updated to USD standards if required
    • Interactive Engine Room components
    Further development planned:
    • Docking Collars to allow Wyvern crews to disembark to the Baltic
    • Amenities for housing of Wyvern crews
    • Design of a compatible small craft to fit into lower bay
    • Addition of anti-missile defensive batteries

    GO HGE!
A very handsome beast! This ship is definitely worth a try, I've not seen anything else quite like it. Great looks with an industrial aesthetic inside, and some very carefully designed logic systems make controlling it ship atmospheric and engaging. Most mechanisms are accessible and labeled if you want to do some editing yourself, which is a nice touch. Internal docked reactors and shield boosters make this one tougher than it might at first appear, but it's still a good idea to keep it away from anything that might drop its shields. You'll need to mess around with the reactor controls to start them up before you can do any flying. Good luck.

Five stars all the way, there's no feeling in the galaxy quite like showing up to a pirate's party and dropping twelve chaingun frigates on them.

You'll need E5553A escorts to get the most of the Baltic class, to be uploaded soon.
The next update helps with server lag. If you experience lag or want to control what you launch this update is a nice one. Also the ability to sit in the bubbled room up top makes it fun to watch the frigates zoom overhead!
I'm at a loss for words.
    This is perfect.
I love every block of it.

Cool, thanks! Glad you like it.
The update is nice, still waiting for moire feedback for further changes...
What a wonderful project, I very much enjoyed this one and cannot wait to see what we at HGE roll out next. Credit to Zamzara Shipyard for the wyvern.

The inception of this ship comes from the new fleet mode and a need to put ship away faster. The purpose of this was not to see battle but to undock launch, dock then move on. After the fight undock recall and pick on by one for repairs.

To those reading there is a major supersize in the engine room not initially mentioned. Don't use the hallway use the transporter.

Please leave feedback, suggestions complaints and what not. The engine room has a gravity issue in which we cannot fix locally. It was said to get fixed on long ships some time ago best bet get into a build block and get into build mode.

Until next time and the updates. o/
