I build stuff, here's some of it. The ones I've finished have their titles linked to the download page. Some of them are quite old and need a little updating, which I may do eventually - there's also some older stuff on my CC page, which I didn't include due to them being a tad awful.

    Current WIP-

    Ulysses Class Survey Vessel:

    An Unfinished Corvette:

Saladin Class Destroyer (From the Star Trek Technical Manual):

    AKS Triarii (Unfinished):

    Arkana Class Corvette:

    TCS Ganymede (Fighter):

    AKS Tribunus (Exploration Cruiser):

    AKS Legatus (Light Escort Cruiser):

    AKS Centurion (Light Escort Frigate):

    An Unfinished Shipyard:

AKS FS Class Merchant Freighter (Collab with AAlexandrosTheGreat):

So, here is the thread where I keep my random WIP stuff. I hope you like them, feedback and criticisms are always welcome.

So, first off, my WIP entry to the NPC station contest. All I have done so far is the hangar, and I just realized that hardened hull probably counts as excessively valuable items, so I will be making the rest out of soft hull and changing the existing bits to that too if I have the time. I'm not terribly good at stations, so this is taking me longer than it normally would. I do have an idea to make the exterior loom all ragged and piratey, but I have no idea whether or not I can pull it off, so I will keep it to myself in case it all goes horribly wrong, In which case I will just make it more generic. Anyways, have some pictures:

That hangar makes me feel like its going to eat any ship I fly in it... which is a good thing! If you haven't already you could implement a logic system to make it extra fancy.

That's a really cool design, it looks like the blocks of the opening of the hangar can close like plex-doors.:)

Thanks, hopefully I can stick to the evil theme.
Also, I made some more progress, as you can probably tell, I am now going for a more generic piratey look, since I realized the three weeks allowed in the contest probably isn't enough time to learn the multitude of different build styles required for the look I had in mind.

More progress, this is taking an age.
Given the fabulous result, I'd say it's worth it :D .
As for damage, would practically shooting it be saved when you turn it into a blueprint? Because if is you can expertly damage places to make it look more like genuine damage.

Ok, so taking a break from the station, I built an RP ship (With fairly significant help from both AAlexandrosTGreat , who did the entire Interior, and ArgoContar , who came up with the shape of the nose, and implemented a fairly awesome emergency lighting system in it, which can be activated from inside the ship,) I may put a download up, but I first need to check that it is ok with them.

The ship is an unarmed merchant hauler, set just after the invention of shields, when they were still too expensive to mass produce, while long range space travel was not particularly developed; therefore the ship is not heavily shielded or particularly fast. Anyway, have some pictures, and some fairly short and badly written lore/backstory (If it even counts as lore). For the record, An'Kator is pronounced an-cat-or (with no pauses).

An'Kator shipyards (AKS) presents the newest, and most advanced ship of the line in the company's history!

The AKS Fading Sunlight class merchant vessel. Utilizing the latest development in shielding technology, and packing comfortable living quarters for 6 crewmen, the Fading Sunlight is sure to fit any aspiring merchants needs. Though unarmed, it packs the latest in engine technology, and carries a small but powerful ion thruster, assuring that although the ship is unarmed, you can still escape any pesky pirates coming your way.

More images of the Fading Sunlight can be found Here.

This is amazing. I especially like the Fading Sunlight. Perfect name, btw - really sounds like a cheesy, company name.

Another An'Kator ship. ArgoContar and AAlexandrosTGreat did most of the interior. This is now up for download along with the fading sunlight, though the upload will take some time to be approved, therefore will not be working at the time of this post.
There are no pictures of the interior, as there are too many rooms to showcase. Thanks to Alex for the gif of the exploded sunlight.

As usual, more badly written lore:
    **************************************************************
[Transmission start, 22:33, July 7th. Transmission from AKS scouting vessel, serial number 1937]
"We have encountered a heavily damaged AKS Fading Sunlight class freighter adrift in space, next to it a strange purple clad weapon was found, appearing to have been broken off from another vessel. Examination suggested it was designed to emit a high intensity cutting beam. We request a new ship is constructed, both to guard against this unknown threat, and to bring this weapon back for more stringent examination, and of course re-engineering. Transferring footage now"

    [Transmission end]

    **************************************************************

    [29th July, 14:46]

Construction of the Centurion, a new frigate class vessel to counter the recently discovered threat of unknown origin has been completed. 68 metres long, and with dual, upgraded engine drives, a hangar bay, a brig, and quarters and facility for a crew of 11, it is most certainly up to the task.
    Image transmission commencing:

Again, these ships are for RP, and due to fairly vast interiors for ships of their size will not have particularly good systems. Downloads for the Centurion can be found here. While the download for the Fading Sunlight can be found here.

One thing you have not added that you might consider is a separate ammo storage area.
About a year ago I started including missile magazines on my larger ships, some with dockable missiles. This does pose a tactical vulnerability, but what is life without a little risk.

Here is a MK_3 torpedo ready for loading in a hegemony frigate.

And here... is the ready ammunition store for that torpedo tube.

Again, this actually hinders the combat ability of the ship in game terms, but I feel that it has RP potential, both as a tactical weak point, and as a means of realism.

That is a pretty awesome idea, I will definitely add that on the cruiser, thanks!

As long as I am laying inspirations on you... (there is no emoticon for "evil grin")

You can put disintigrators in the generator portion of your ship so that the entire rear end blows up when they are struck.

You can also put two activator modules on the bridge... one with a really long line of delays, the other with none and link them to an "and" that is linked to the reactor bombs. turn them both on, and you have 30 seconds before the ship blows. if you chicken out, turn the quick one off and the countdown will be aborted.

You can install doors over the engine exhausts, to "turn off" your engines (or reduce their output).

I THINK that if you link an activator to a wedge, the wedge flips when activated still. Using this you can have a concealed ramp open with a door.

You can also use doors as a "retractable" landing gear on small ships.

You can have a small push pulse module behind every fighter, shuttle, or drone on your ship, linked via logic to the docking module. when the ship launches, it triggers the pulse, pushing it out into space. POWER LAUNCH!

You can also use the "power launch" method to propel bare cores out a small port to decoy incoming missiles.

If your escape pods are accessed from the top, you can drop down into them, automatically enter their gravity, and launch them all at once. (with a power launch to boost them out of the wrecked ship)

It is still fairly buggy to have repeating logic circuits, but you CAN use them to animate generators or plasma conduits or whatever.

The "link" lines make great power conduits for decorative purposes.

A repeating logic circuit linked to a "push" module makes a respectable autopilot for really long journeys. (or to have the ship flying while the players inside do role-play things.)

Water with a recessed border of ice crystal makes an excellent force-field effect (if you are playing on a server that does not use force fields)

A repeating circuit attached to a damage beam and a "pull" module allows you to lock your smaller ships to asteroids or stations (but stops working when the sector is unloaded, so still use docking modules for long term stuff)

Thus concludes every Starmade building secret I have. They are all really gimmicky things, bullet points for a package rather than examples of any real craft. The ships I design that feature them are one step up from flying bricks. My hope is that they may bring you (someone with potential) some sort of inspiration or continued motivation.

So, this isn't dead (Quite), and I've been working on the Legatus class cruiser, Hoplight class bomber and Velite class drone fighter. I'm not particularly happy with the way the Legatus turned out, it looks how I intended from the side but from the top/bottom it looks like a whale ate a brick. You may also be getting a change from the bland, grey military interiors in my next AKS project, its something a little different.
In keeping with tradition; enjoy some badly written (And horribly short) lore:

    *********************************************
    [12 November, 03:21]
Construction of the experimental prototype-041 "Legatus" is complete. The alien technology recovered has successfully been reverse engineered into a long range "Jump core" transportation device. Should it perform as intended in trials construction will begin on the sister ship, "Dre'nar".

[Transmission start: D'hat'valar Industies Research Division --> An'Kator Military Command]

Construction of the "Velite" class drone and "Hoplite" class bomber was also completed alongside the Legatus, commencing visual link.

Downloads are coming tomorrow when I can actually be bothered to fill out the forms for each ship.
In the meantime, here is a link to the Imgur album with some of the Legatus' interior. http://imgur.com/a/z4vJR (Thanks to Incap, who's work heavily influenced the interior of this ship, and Ithirahad who came up with the view screen made of a display block full of punctuation technique)
